Hannah Miller Blogs Here

Reminiscing today about this fun time. Touring w/ Angel Snow and Robby Hecht is good.

nothingstrangerthantruth:

Hannah Miller is a singer songwriter originally from Alabama, who currently finds herself in Nashville. I first saw her perform last year in a writer’s round that my wife has also played in. Comforting melodies paired with her haunting voice floated in my wife and my head for days after. Be sure…

It’s been a good year.

So, it’s weird that 2011 is going to be over in 10 days. I was trying to take a nap, but then started thinking of what a really great year 2011 has been and then I couldn’t sleep. I think this has been a year worthy of a recap, just to have it on record, because it’s good to remember where you’ve been. And to give thanks.

All props go to the One to whom they are due:

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” - James 1:17

With that in mind, here are some highlights (in music world) from this year:

We moved from Columbia, SC, to Nashville, TN (technically we moved in 2010, but the end of Dec, so basically last year- who wants to be technical about it tho?);

I got to be featured on the cover of this magazine. that was awesome.

our friend Patrick Coker came up from Columbia, and we shot this video;

I launched a Kickstarter Campaign to fund the next three releases, and released the Reason Why single and video, and we MET OUR GOAL!

I met and started writing with Mr. Neilson Hubbard. We wrote O Black River on our first co-writing date, and that kinda sealed the deal that he would be producing the next EP in the trilogy, O Black River;

signed a licensing deal w/ the cool folks at Whizbang Music for TV/film licensing;

lovely tour with my friend Angel Snow, up to Chicago, Philly, NYC, DC, and more;

our other talented Columbia video friends, Jeremy and Austin from Dust of the Ground Media came to visit and we shot this video ;

started writing w/ Neilson for the 3rd EP; and released O Black River EP;

I got to go on this awesome podcast, play at Musician’s Corner at Centennial Park; EP release tour through the Southeast, had a full band EP release show in Nashville with some of the most talented fellows in the world, and started tracking EP #3 with Neilson at the brand new and beautiful Mr. Lemons studio;

went on a mini tour w/ Robby Hecht and Angel Snow; sang bgv on some great guys and ladies records; got to sing with my hero Matthew Perryman Jones for an upcoming Wigby video episode, moved from Bellevue to Inglewood…

I’ll stop there. It’s just been a blast, thanks to the Lord for directing my paths in His wisdom and love, this year and every year. Thanks to you for supporting and encouraging me in music making.

May your Christmas be merry, bright, warm and full of joy, and your New Year be blessed and abundant!

here’s a vid from our recent show at Grocery on Home in ATL, cool place, hopefully we’ll be back in the new year. I hope you enjoy.
